Verlies
Garden, Sculpture, 2023

My work, the garden and sculptures called 'Verlies' is part of Art Festival Watou 2023 and generously supported by the Mondriaan Fonds.I've designed and planted a garden with sculptures to sit on and a scriptorium as a place of commemoration and contemplation. The title of this garden is 'Verlies', this word has a double meaning. In Dutch it means to lose someone or something. In German, it means: dark, locked place like a dungeon. In this case, the garden and scriptorium offers an open and life-embracing place.
